A Welfare Officer is someone who is specially trained to make sure they can support you with any worries or concerns you may have. Safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility and our Welfare Officer plays an important part of venues committee.

A Welfare Officer should:

• Promote safeguarding within their venue

• Work with others to ensure a safe and inclusive environment is achieved

• Not be a member of the venue’s coaching team

• Not be related to a member of the coaching team (for example, their spouse).
